As I Xi It v2.3

This is just brilliant!! For those who don’t know, it won the 2010 oscar for best animated short film and rightly so!

Here’s a timelapse I did while having breakfast with Xiao up in Roast at Borough Market. Fairly busy, even if it was post Christmas.

It was another Lee Valley afternoon yesterday. We went to some of the private hides and well, it was slim pickings. We put food out in the hope of getting some birds, but it just attracted the squirrels. A few birds did pop along for an afternoon snack, but I think the hides are over untill the autumn/winter. I really wanted a pic of a blue Jay. Anyway, there’s a montage of some of the squirrel shots.

Also a few stills. In the last photo, we trialed our floating camera platform. There are still some logistical issues to work out.

Sophie and I were chatting on MSN as we so often do and the topic came up about photos of us eating. Then it came to me, why not do a video slideshow of eating and food photos?! I could do it to Food Glorious Food from the musical Oliver!

I’m just full of these creative ideas sometimes that it surprises even me!

Took Friday afternoon off for a spot of photography at Lee Valley. I’ve edited it using Animoto which looks quite cool, but better suited to people photography I reckon.

I’ve just returned from over two weeks in South Africa (with a brief sojourn into Swaziland). Trip report to come, but for the time being, here’s a slideshow. This time’s theme tune is Bob Marley’s Buffalo Soldier.

Six and a half hours, 1013 frames, a shot every twenty seconds. Phew, took a while but I’m pretty pleased with the outcome. Needs some more plants.

I had a look in the glass vial I have where I keep the stick insect eggs and noticed one died while in the process of emerging and another was still moving mostly, but its legs were trapped in in the egg still. So, I made a little time-lapse but it just never managed to get out.
