Vitomatic recovered

Posted on Posted in Film photography

For those who follow my Instagram feed, you would’ve known that I’d brought a Voigtlander Vitomatic IIa a couple of weeks ago. Apart from the light meter and faint rangefinder markings, everything worked as it should. The leatherette was looking a bit shabby so I decided to smarten it up with some navy goat skin leather.

Once you’ve peeled off the old leatherette, you’re left with a bit of a gummy mess. Not surprising for a 50+ year old camera. You really to scrape off as much of it as you can for the new leather to stick properly. When that’s dealt with all you need to do is measure up the new leather, cut and stick.
